What were the chances? After getting drenched at last year's
Founder's Day, held on November 11th, we figured we would skirt the chance
of rain by moving the event forward by two months. Of all of the
exact days to rain, we got our first really good flood of the year on
September 22nd, the day we had Founder's Day. As Sandy Dayton
suggested, if we ever again are in need of a really good rain, we'll just
plan Founder's Day and it's sure to pour. It was absolutely
beautiful the following day, of course. For two years now, we've had
a magnificent outdoor event planned with an inside contingency plan for
rain. I think from now on, we'll just plan on rain and have a
contingency plan if it's nice.
It's a tremendous amount of work and planning.
We had very, very few volunteers step up to help, but the ones we did have
were dedicated. Once again, Grizzly Flats turned out and all in all,
we had a wonderful day. Here it is in photos:

auction that became quite competitive before it was over
