Your Fire Safe Council Needs YOU!
By Mark Almer
Grizzly Flats Fire Safe Council, Unit Leader Coordinator
The Grizzly Flats Fire Safe
Council is looking for members of the community who are interested in
serving on the Council. It is an excellent opportunity to be involved
with helping to keep Grizzly Flats fire safe. The Council meets on
the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Grizzly Flats
Community Church Lodge Building on Sciaroni Road.
The Council has several
sub-committees that you might be interested in joining: Defensible
Space, CERT, Trestle Trail (trail maintenance adopted by the Council),
and Unit Leaders. The Unit Leaders are neighborhood representatives
that distribute the evacuation packets to their new neighbors. The
Grizzly Park Subdivision is broken down into 10 individual units. If
you don’t know which unit you live in, you can check the deed to your
property (in the property legal description) or contact the Grizzly
Flats Community Services District.
The Grizzly Flats Fire Safe
Council currently has vacancies for Unit Leaders in both Units 6 and
1/5 (combined). Becoming a Unit Leader gives you an opportunity to
meet your neighbors and be involved in your community.
If you are interested in
joining the Grizzly Flats Fire Safe Council and/or becoming a Unit
Leader, please attend the next Fire Safe Council meeting. We look
forward to seeing you then!
