When I’m in my garden, I do the best thinking and reflecting. So, I’m weeding, planting, and shaping my plants and I start to think of Katrina’s article on rage.

Rage is a funny thing, it can be blended with insecurity, envy, greed and surprisingly enough with endurance, or lack of. If you take a good look at these people filled with anger, bitterness and rage, they lack something; that something is the ability to connect with other people. These people have not been able to endure through the events that took that ability away from them.

I have known people, myself included, that have been through hard times and tragedies and were able to come back stronger, better, smarter, and have more understanding of others. This is because we did not let those events or other people get the best of us. We endured! We made it through, shook off the dirt and continued on.

Look at nature, the same God that created us, created everything around us.

Look at where a fire rages through and seems to destroy everything, eventually you will see sprigs of green popping through with new life. This area that seemed totally destroyed soon flourishes with lush new growth, better than it was before.

People can be the same way depending on their choices. If we choose to let people or events destroy us, they will. They will also own us because they will always have control. If we choose to walk away, throw our shoulders back, take a deep breath, and be grateful we made it through, we can continue to be who we really are, with more wisdom and in sight. We endured! We have not lost our ability to connect. We have gained understanding and compassion, we can also be proud we have traveled a few more positive steps in our journey.

Unfortunately, those who held no endurance became bitter and angry. There is no connection with others, only discontent in not understanding how others can enjoy life or be patient or get along well in what they do and in their relationships.

To those people, we should feel sympathy and use the wisdom we have gained to be patient and understanding.

Well my pansies are smiling at me hoping for a drink of water, along with the geraniums, and the sunflowers, and the jasmine, now these babies are a real example of how to endure.
