One of my favorite sounds in the world is when the sun comes out and begins to melt the snow that is piled up on the evergreen branches.  The branches let go of the huge piles of snow and then come down with a crashing !boom!  Note to newcomers:  when the sun is shining, don't stand under trees that have branches loaded with snow.
